I didn't have a spectacular reading time in January but it's been ok.
My favourite read for January was The Brilliant Life of Eudora Honeysett but Crying in H Mart was a close second. The writing style was smooth and easy, the pace, nostalgia, and mother love is so sweetly expressed.
I had higher hopes for Win Me Something, the story of a young Asian half who falls into the life of a New York City nanny for a wealthy family. Her searching for identity, family, and a career path is awkward and bumbling, ending in loose ends.
We Unleash the Merciless Storm, the sequel to We Set the Dark on Fire, is less thrilling than the original but both books are a quick read with plenty of tension between the two main characters.
